You Don’t Have to Hire Two Vendors

Most couples planning a Washington elopement start by looking for a photographer, then realize they want film too, and end up trying to hire, coordinate, and pay two separate teams who have never met.

We’re both. We shoot the same day side by side, which means no awkward overlap, nobody stepping into the other’s frame, and one gallery and one film that tell the same story instead of contradicting each other.

We Eloped, Too

We’re Vannessa and Coleman, a husband-and-wife photographer and videographer team based in Washington. We eloped ourselves. No big production, no expectations, just us and a promise we’ll never forget. Since 2010 we’ve been helping other couples do the same.

These are our home mountains. We know which trailhead actually has parking before sunrise, where the fog sits on the ridge in June, and which permit office to call and when. That is the part you cannot get from someone flying in for the weekend.

The Washington Elopement Locations We Know Best

If one of these is already in your head, good. We shoot here. We know the light, we know the trail, and we know exactly what the permit office will ask you for.

Mount Rainier National Park

Wildflower meadows peaking in late July, Tatoosh ridgelines, and the sunrise light that turns the whole mountain pink. Our most requested location and the one we shoot most often, so we can tell you which viewpoint is worth the early alarm and which one everyone else will be standing at.

Olympic National Park

Three parks in one. Fog rolling through the Hoh rainforest, sea stacks and driftwood on the coast, and alpine views from Hurricane Ridge, all reachable in a single day if you want the contrast.

North Cascades

Granite, glaciers, and turquoise lakes, with Mount Baker and Shuksan in frame from the right ridge. Larches turn gold here in late September and early October, and it stays quieter than the parks to the south.

Leavenworth

Bavarian village charm with the Enchantments in the backyard. The right pick if you want real alpine terrain during the day and a comfortable place to sleep, eat and toast at the end of it.

Mount St. Helens

Otherworldly, and nothing else in Washington looks like it. Ash plains, silver forest, and wide-open sightlines that make even a small ceremony feel enormous.

The North Cascades highway corridor, the Palouse, the coast, and a long list of quieter spots we have built up over fifteen years. If you have somewhere specific in mind, ask us.

When’s the Best Time to Elope in Washington?

There is no bad season here, only different ones. Here is how the year actually plays out at the places you are looking at.

Late Spring · May - June

Waterfalls run their hardest and everything low is green, before the crowds arrive. Snow is still sitting on the high meadows at Rainier and Baker, so ceremonies move lower or onto the ridges that clear first. Ridge fog is common in June, and it photographs beautifully.

Summer · July - August

The widest access of the year. Rainier’s wildflower meadows peak in late July, the Olympic high country opens up, and almost every trail is walkable. It is also the busiest stretch and the fastest for permits to go, so this is the window to book earliest.

Early Fall · Sept - Oct

We’re here for more than the camera work. From elopement planning and choosing a location to building a timeline that flows naturally, we help make the whole experience easy, exciting, and all yours.

Late Fall & Winter · Nov - April

Offseason pricing, moody weather, and the Olympic rainforest at its greenest. Coastal storms, snowfields and low clouds make the dramatic, quiet galleries that some of our couples ask for by name.

Peak season runs May through October and offseason runs November through April, which is also how our pricing works. If you are flexible on the date, tell us the feeling you want and we will tell you the month.

Frequently Asked Questions About Washington Elopements

How much does a Washington elopement cost?

Our elopement experiences start at $6,900 in the offseason (November–April) and $8,900 in peak season (May–October). Final pricing depends on your location, how much coverage you need, and travel. Every experience includes elopement photography, elopement videography, planning support, officiating, drone coverage where permitted, and travel within the Pacific Northwest.

Is video always included, or is it an add-on?

Always included. We’re a photographer and videographer team and both of us are there for the whole day. You get a hand-edited gallery and a cinematic film from the same day, and you won’t be coordinating two separate vendors who have never worked together.

We already have a specific spot picked out. Can you shoot there?

Almost always, yes, and it is our favourite kind of enquiry. Send us the location and we will tell you what the permit looks like, what time of day it works best, and how long the walk in really takes. If the spot will not work for a ceremony, whether that is access, permits, or crowds, we will say so plainly and suggest somewhere close by that will.

Do we need a permit to elope in a national park?

Usually, yes. Mount Rainier, Olympic, North Cascades and most other public lands require a special use permit for ceremonies, and the popular spots book out well ahead. If your location needs one, we’ll handle the research and walk you through the application.

What if it rains?

In the Pacific Northwest, it might. Some of our favorite galleries came from grey, foggy, drizzly days. We plan for weather, we bring backups, and we’ll never let a forecast be the reason your day feels ruined.

How far in advance should we book?

Peak season dates at Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park go first, and permits add their own timeline on top. If you have a season in mind, reaching out early gives you the most options.
