Erika and Derek came out to the North Cascades with Coleman and I for their vow renewal! These two have been married for 8 years, love backpacking and all the outdoor adventures together. We took them on one of our favorite hikes in Washington!
Once we reached the top, we started exploring! Every single direction we turned the views were just unmatched.
Then,
the rain came absolutely pouring down on these two.
We offered them our jackets to wait it out, but they were so chill they just wanted to embrace it!
They were rewarded with this incredible double rainbow!
It was the closest to a full circle rainbow that Coleman and I had ever seen.
After the storm passed, we ended up with some beautiful sunshine just as it was cresting behind a peak.
We had so many different elements during Erika and Derick’s vow renewal and each one of them photographed so differently! Mt. Baker was looking her best as usual too.
We made our way down to the overlook where these two would stand together
and tell each other all the reasons why each other is their person.
Finally, we reached it. And it was every bit as gorgeous as we remembered.
As we made our way back down, stopping at a snowfield for a quick frolic, the sun began to shine her last light. We made our way down into the darkness with just our headlamps, rejuvenated spirits, and some great stories!
We had sunshine, we had a sudden torrential downpour, we had a double rainbow, and we had a
whole lot of love and fun for Erika and Derek’s Pacific Northwest vow renewal!
